Position Title:

Workshop Labourer

JOB OBJECTIVE

A Workshop Labourer, also known as a Labourer, is a versatile worker who performs a variety of tasks on construction sites, workshop, warehouses, or manufacturing facilities. They provide essential support to skilled tradespeople and help ensure the smooth and efficient operation of work sites.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist skilled tradespeople, such as carpenters, bricklayers, or electricians, with various tasks, including carrying materials, operating tools, and performing basic construction or installation work.
  • Load and unload materials, equipment, and supplies from trucks, trailers, or storage areas, using manual labour or mechanical equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, or hand trucks.
  • Clean and prepare workshops, construction sites, work areas, and equipment for work activities, including clearing debris, removing obstacles, and setting up barriers or safety signs to maintain a safe and orderly environment.
  • Mix and pour concrete, mortar, or other construction materials, using mixing equipment, wheelbarrows, or buckets, to assist with concrete pours, masonry work, or building foundations.
  • Erect and dismantle temporary structures, scaffolding, or hoarding, following safety guidelines and instructions from supervisors, to support construction projects and ensure worksite safety.
  • Perform demolition work, such as breaking down structures, removing debris, and salvaging materials, using hand tools, power tools, or demolition equipment, under supervision and in compliance with safety regulations.
  • Assist with landscaping and ground maintenance tasks, including planting, watering, and weeding gardens, mowing lawns, and trimming bushes or trees, to enhance the appearance and functionality of outdoor spaces.
  • Clean and maintain tools, equipment, and machinery, performing routine inspections, lubrication, and minor repairs as needed to ensure proper functioning and prolong equipment lifespan.
