ROLE DETAIL

Position Title:

Electrical Technician

JOB OBJECTIVE

An Electrical Technician, also referred to as an Electrician, Electrical Installers, Electrical Maintenance Technician or Electrical Engineering Technician, is a skilled professional responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and equipment (In comparison to Engineers who will Develop & Design not install and maintain as a technician ). They play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of electrical infrastructure in various settings.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design and develop electrical systems, circuits, and components for various applications, such as buildings, machinery, or power distribution networks, using engineering principles, computer-aided design (CAD) software, and industry standards.
  • Plan and oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical equipment and systems, ensuring compliance with project specifications, safety regulations, and quality standards.
  • Conduct technical feasibility studies and risk assessments to evaluate the performance, reliability, and safety of electrical designs and recommend modifications or improvements as needed.
  • Perform calculations, simulations, and analysis to determine electrical load requirements, voltage drop, and power distribution to ensure optimal performance and efficiency of electrical systems.
  • Specify and select electrical components, materials, and equipment, such as cables, transformers, switchgear, and control systems, based on project requirements, budget constraints, and technical specifications.
  • Troubleshoot electrical problems and malfunctions, using diagnostic tools, testing equipment, and technical knowledge, to identify root causes and implement corrective actions to restore functionality.
  • Prepare technical documentation, including engineering drawings, specifications, reports, and manuals, to communicate design concepts, implementation plans, and operating procedures to stakeholders.
